The Supreme Court has granted bail to Kiran Kumar, accused in the Vismaya case

New Delhi: The accused in the Kollam Vismaya case and Vismaya’s husband Kiran Kumar has been granted bail (SC Grant Bail For Vismaya Case Accuse Kiran Kumar). Kiran Kumar was granted bail by the Supreme Court. A bench of Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and MM Sundaresh granted bail to the accused. Kiran Kumar has approached the Supreme Court for seven days bail. Lawyer Deepak Prakash appeared for Kiran in the Supreme Court.

The apex court granted bail to Kiran Kumar. Kiran will have to go to jail only if she is sentenced to life imprisonment in the Vismaya case. The court observed that there was no impediment to further granting bail in the circumstances under which key witnesses were examined in the trial of the Vismaya case. The court rejected the Kerala government’s contention that granting bail to the accused would influence witnesses. The court also said that the trial court could decide on Kiran’s bail conditions.
