Following this, BJP State President Annamalai condemned the killing of Army veteran Prabhu and announced a hunger strike on behalf of Tamil Nadu BJP in Chennai. BJP state vice-presidents Karu Nagarajan, VP Duraisamy and other retired soldiers from various branches participated in the protest on February 21. Retired Army Colonel Pandian also participated in this.

“We also know how to bomb and shoot,” said Colonel Pandian, who met the press ahead of the protest. To this, the reporters there said, “You are speaking in a very threatening tone.” He replied, “Don’t you get money from DMK and post news?” He said. This led to an argument between the reporters and Colonel Pandian. After that, Karu. Nagarajan made peace.

After that, Colonel Pandian, who went to the protest platform and spoke again, said, “I am warning the Tamil Nadu government about one thing. Indian Army is the second largest army in the world. Not only that, the most disciplined army in the world. It is not good for Tamil Nadu and the Tamil Nadu government if such soldiers are insulted. Law and order of the country will not be safe if we try to test them.

I say this with love. All the ex-servicemen sitting here are good at bombing, shooting and fighting. We know all these jobs very well. But we don’t do all of this. “I warn the Tamil Nadu government not to let us do it,” he said.

The police have registered a case against Colonel Pandian, a member of the BJP National General Committee, for speaking threateningly in the BJP’s protest field. Acting on information provided by police intelligence officers, the Tiruvallikeni police have booked Colonel Pandian under two counts of disturbing public peace and inciting violence. Further, it was informed by the police that the investigation will be conducted and sections will be added according to the nature of the crime.

In this case, Army officer Pandian has sought an unconditional apology in the High Court. After Pandyan apologized, the High Court granted him anticipatory bail. During the hearing, the judge questioned Pandian whether he would not speak like this again. Anticipatory bail was granted after Pandian tendered an unconditional apology saying he would not speak like this again.
