Although Katz previously served in the position, this is still a particularly surprising appointment, also because in the last primaries Katz has deteriorated from the starting five to 12th place, and also because the relationship between him and Netanyahu in recent times is no longer the same as in the past, but it seems that Netanyahu feels an obligation to dismantle ” The organization of the disgruntled” in Likud through adequate compensation for the person who is at the head of the organization who may give him a serious headache in the coming term if he is not satisfied with the distribution of the cases and leads a rebellion on issues that are not to his liking.

On the other hand, Amsalem and Haim Katz have been keeping quiet for a long time, even though Amsalem, who came in fifth and respectable in the primaries, was interviewed before the elections and demanded to take over the Ministry of Justice, otherwise he would stay out of the government and serve the voters from the Knesset. It seems that the Ministry of Justice will not accept it, since the case is intended for his senior MK Yariv Levin, who came in first place in the primaries after Chairman Benjamin Netanyahu.
Israel Katz has a group of supporters from within the Likud who see him as Netanyahu’s successor in the leadership of the Likud in the coming day as one of the veterans in the movement and as someone who has held a number of senior offices: Minister of Finance, Foreign Affairs, Transport and Agriculture.
