Cleared for publication: About a month after the murder of the late Yam Yam Buchbot in Eilat, the police announced today (Friday) the completion of the case.

As you may recall, on February 23, 2002, the wounded were reported to the police for medical treatment following stabbings that took place in Eilat. As a result, the late 22-year-old deceased Yam Buchbot was fatally wounded, and later that night he was pronounced dead. The deceased’s father was seriously injured.

Investigators were able to track down the suspect, and about two weeks after the incident, Eilat police detectives captured him in a hiding place in the center of the country. Miodik’s detention was extended from time to time, and these days all the evidence in the case has been collected and transferred to the Southern District Attorney’s Office.

The commander of the Eilat area, Lieutenant Colonel Moshe Finzi: “We will continue to act resolutely and use all means at our disposal to eradicate serious crime and against criminals who act in violation of the law.”
