UA powerful voice, a hit song, and the experience of the title: Loreen, the Swedish candidate for Eurovision 2023, is considered an arch-favorite. The bookmakers give him a 52% chance of winning the final, this Saturday evening, with his title “Tattoo”. “Thinking about winning or losing is an ego thing. (…) As I am a very spiritual person, I work a lot to discipline myself on this. That stuff can take over your mind, so I do a lot of meditation, mind control. I don’t want to bother myself with this. I want to keep in mind that my goal is to deliver something to the public,” the artist told Purecharts.
The Moroccan-Swedish is no stranger to the competition, on the contrary: she had already won the title in 2012, with the song “Euphoria”. And if she assures that she does not think about victory, she still believes in it: “If I feel good energies, I go there, even if I do not really understand why myself. I felt them, like I had felt something similar with “Euphoria”. This song mixed things related to spirituality and very human dance, with this big production. It’s an ideal combination,” she says.
However, at the start, Loreen did not want to put her game back in the title: “When I recorded the song, we all said to ourselves that it was special. And, suddenly, the question arose, and I answered: “What? But it’s not okay? Have you lost your mind?” But the people I’m close to were a little disappointed, I could see that. They didn’t understand that I wasn’t considering it. So I thought about it…”

A message song
In “Tattoo”, the Swede shows a whole range of her talent: softness, power of the voice, all framed by a titanic show. But that’s not all: “There are several layers of messages in this song. Everyone can interpret it as they want. If you watch the whole performance, the song is about love but what I’m really trying to say is that there is a law of nature, in my opinion: there is no day without night , there is no love without difficulties. In our current world, as soon as things get difficult, we are tempted to leave because we believe that the grass is greener elsewhere… Be careful, of course, in certain situations, you have to run! But often, you have to stay a little longer, and accept the qualities and faults of the other. Nobody is perfect. »

While waiting for the results of the competition, Loreen can be satisfied with another impressive score: her title has already been listened to 70 million times on streaming platforms around the world, including 1.5 million times in France.
The candidate for France, La Zarra, was ejected from the Top 5 by the bookmakers this Saturday. It is, in the forecasts, sixth with a 2% chance of winning, behind Sweden, Spain, Israel, Ukraine and Finland. A small fall, while she was on the podium last week.
