Mr. Lundgren played tennis professionally for 12 years (1983-1995) and in 1987 was ranked 25th in the world. During his career, he won 3 ATP singles tournaments, and in doubles in 1988. reached the final of the Australian Open. He ended his career in 1996.

Mr. Lundgren, as a coach, first became famous by working with the Chilean Marcelo Rios, who rose to the tenth position in the ranking of the planet. 2000-2003 he coached Roger Federer, helped him establish himself in men’s tennis and was by R. Federer’s side when he won in 2003. won his first Wimbledon men’s title.

Later, the Swede also worked with the Russian Marat Safin, who won the 2005 Australian Open title, Greek Marcos Baghdatis, Grigor Dimitrov and Stan Wawrinka.

Mr Lundgren’s health problems were made public last year when he broke his leg and had to have his foot amputated after an infection set in. He also announced himself that he was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
