The swimming nationals have started preparations for the new Olympic cycle

The national swimming team has started a preparatory camp at VSK Belmeken, the Bulgarian Swimming Federation announced.

The extended team includes 33 swimmers, including two of the participants of the Summer Olympic Games in Paris – Gabriela Georgieva and Petar Mitsin. There are 17 women and 16 men in the group.

“These are the majority of athletes that Bulgaria will rely on in the Olympic cycle until the Los Angeles Games in 2028. We have many talented swimmers who I hope will show their potential and realize their opportunities,” said the head coach of national teams Christian Minkovski.

In addition to Minkovski, the coaching staff for the current camp includes mentors Vesselin Surov, Nikolay Vakareev, Lyubomir Lazarov, Lyuba Panayotova, Petar Ivanov, Prof. Dr. Lyubomir Petrov, kinesitherapist Mariy Ivanov and ch. Assistant Professor Mihail Kachaunov from Vasil Levski NSA, who is responsible for the scientific and applied laboratory.

The training camp will continue until September 15.
