The Continental Synod of Europe wants synodism to evolve into a way of life for the Church.

This is said by the synod meeting in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. This conference which started on the 5th of this month will conclude on Sunday the twelfth (05-12/02/23). Representatives of the Catholic Bishops’ Conferences of Europe are attending this conference.

This meeting issued a document on Synod experience. This synod meeting has been a profoundly spiritual experience and has provided a blueprint for the priorities of the next phase of the synod’s process. This meeting makes it clear that this synod style is more than a methodology, but also a way of discerning the life of our Church, of common discernment, and of recognizing the signs of the times.

This Synod considers that this continental conference should not remain an isolated experience, but should become an occasional meeting based on the general adoption of the synodical style, which pervades all the structures and procedures of the Church at all levels.

Cardinal Mario Grech, General Secretary (Secretary General) of the Synod Office of Bishops is also participating in this Prague conference.
