turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed today, Saturday, that his country does not and will not aspire to occupy even a single inch of any country’s territory. This came at a public event in the city of Gaziantep, southern Turkey.
Erdogan continued, “On Thursday, we held a meeting of the National Security Council, and did a complete briefing. We did not and will not aspire to occupy even a single inch of any country’s territory.Turkey has always sought dialogue, and we did our best to preserve Syria’s independence.”
He added: “More than a million Syrian victims fell consequently of the attacks of the Syrian regime and the parties supporting it, and nearly 12 million Syrians were displaced either to other regions or to countries outside Syria,” he said.
The Turkish President added in his speech: “We know very well what the terrorist organizations have done inside Syria, whether ISIS or the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (classified as terrorist by Ankara)… We want for Syria what we want for ourselves.” He continued: “What we wish for the city of Gaziantep, we wish for Aleppo, just as we give importance to Gaziantep. We give importance to all Syrian cities, from Aleppo, Homs, Damascus and others, so that everyone knows that ther is a new truth inside Syria with all its sects, races and sects, and it belongs to the Syrian citizens. Who determines the future of Syria is the Syrians living inside Syria.”
Erdogan said: “I particularly mention that all terrorist organizations are fishing in troubled waters and exploiting these circumstances, but we will not allow them to exploit these circumstances and attack Turkish lands, and syria has had blood flowing for many years, and the Syrian people now deserve independence in every sense of the word, as He deserves to live with justice and stability.”
He continued: “As the first day of the crisis, we have made every effort to resolve the crisis, and we opened our doors to receive the Syrians, but the Syrian regime in the Levant did not reach the truth and reality, and we repeatedly warned of the danger of what the regime is doing, and we said that one day you will reap the fruits of the policy of killing you have undertaken.” Your people, and you will pay the heavy bill.”
