The lives of women and girls in Afghanistan are deteriorating, the rights group has revealed in its research report.
The Taliban took over Afghanistan in 2021. Since then, various changes have been made in the legal regulations.
In particular, various restrictions were imposed on women, such as banning higher education and not issuing driver’s licenses.
In this situation, a London-based rights group said in its report that millions of women and girls have lost their right to safety and a fulfilling life due to these activities of the Taliban.
Also titled Death in Slow Speed, the report reveals how women under the Taliban regime who peacefully protested against these oppressive rules were threatened, arrested, detained, tortured and forcibly disappeared.

Meanwhile, Amnesty International Secretary General Agnes Callamard said, “In less than a year since the Taliban took over Afghanistan, their brutal policies have deprived millions of women and girls of their right to lead a safe, free and fulfilling life.” (ANI)
