The Al-Arabiya channel reported today (Monday) that the Israeli attack on the outskirts of Damascus was aimed at a convoy carrying Iranian strategic weapons, which were on their way to be used by Hezbollah in Lebanon. It was also reported that the scene of the attack was near a building where the Revolutionary Guards and Hezbollah held meetings.
Syrian opposition figures are distributing on social networks photos of two Syrian soldiers who they claim were killed in an attack – this news has no confirmation from official sources.
Syria announced that Israel attacked in the area of the capital Damascus. According to a source in the Syrian army, a soldier was injured in the attack and damage was caused. He added that during the attack rocket barrages were fired from northern Israel at several points in the Damascus area. According to him, “the air defense systems repelled the missiles and shot down some of them.”
