The Tax Authority operated in East Jerusalem to collect debts

As part of an operation initiated by the National Collection Enforcement Unit of the Tax Authority (HOTSL), the unit’s employees were active last night (Tuesday) in the villages of Jebel Mokbar and Tzur Bahar in East Jerusalem. Jerusalem District police officers also participated in the operation and 2 tow trucks were used to impound cars.

As part of the activity, the unit’s employees were engaged in collecting debts for the Jerusalem VAT and the Jerusalem Income Tax. The operation was preceded by a thorough field intelligence gathering, to locate tax evaders and their property.

During the operation, 7 vehicles were seized and confiscated. Four of them were seized for VAT debts in the total amount of approximately NIS 568 thousand and three were seized for income tax debts in the total amount of approximately NIS 162 thousand.

During the activity in Jabal Mukabar, violence was used against the employees of the unit and the policemen who accompanied them. The impoundment of the vehicle was completed and a police incident was opened.
