As reported by the Police Department, on April 20 around 6 p.m. 35 minutes Vilnius County Police and Kaunas County Police received reports from an unidentified telephone terrorist that explosives were placed at the airports of Vilnius, Kaunas, Šiauliai and Palanga, which will explode in 20 minutes. (or in 2 hours).

The police officers immediately evaluated the reports as possibly false, so the “Shield” plan was not introduced anywhere, and people were not evacuated from the airports.

Officers, together with airport staff, searched their entrances and premises, but no suspicious items or explosives were found.

It was the second such threat in two days. On Friday, Vilnius and Kaunas airports were threatened with explosions. At that time, about 100 passengers were evacuated from Kaunas airport.
