The tiebreaker? Reuters reported this morning (Wednesday) that the United States is in the advanced stage of approving plans to send advanced Patriot air defense systems to Kiev, in order to help Ukraine in the war.

Two senior American officials told Reuters that the official announcement may be made as early as tomorrow. The Patriot is considered to be the most advanced defense system of the United States, the number of which is limited and for the most part Washington cuts back on sending it to its allies in the world. Its use will be for Ukraine a response to Russia’s use of Iranian missiles.
Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has warned NATO allies that if they provide air defense systems to Ukraine, the Kremlin will see this step as an escalation.
