It really shows how the music scene continues to evolve.
TNE: It’s fascinating to see how these different generations of artists come together. the first round of performances includes acts like Gospellers and Travis Japan. How do you think this variety influences the audience’s experience?
Dr. SY: The variety captivates a broader audience, which is crucial for live events. Fans of different genres and ages will have something to relate to, creating a shared experience. This is especially significant in a live setting where the energy exchanges among artists and audiences can be electrifying.
TNE: You mentioned collaboration, and it appears that many performances involve collective efforts. Such as, we have ILLIT and UKON ONOE x Genta Matsuda.How do these collaborations enhance the performances?
Dr.SY: Collaborations frequently enough bring out the best in artists, as they can draw on each other’s strengths. When artists like JUJU and Fuma Kikuchi come together, it can create a magical synergy, resulting in unexpected interpretations of songs. Additionally, collaborations between different groups can introduce fans to new music and styles, potentially reshaping their musical preferences.
TNE: That’s a great insight! Moving into the later hours of the programme, we see some significant acts coming up, including AESPA and SNOWMAN. What are your predictions for the impact of these performances?
Dr. SY: With acts like AESPA and SNOWMAN, we’re looking at a unique blend of both K-pop and J-pop influences that are taking over Asia, if not the world. Their performances are bound to attract a younger audience while also showcasing how interconnected these music scenes have become. I believe these performances will not only entertain but may also spark engaging conversations about culture and music production.
