Journalists from The Wall Streer Journal (WSJ) and Bloomberg predicted that the American corporation Apple will release the first foldable devices no earlier than 2026, Day.Az reports with reference to Lenta.ru.

According to WSJ sources, Tim Cook’s company will introduce foldable gadgets no earlier than 2026. This year the company has planned the release of two devices with a flexible display. One of them may be a foldable iPhone, which when unfolded will have a display larger than that of the iPhone 16 Pro Max – at least 7 inches.

The sources who revealed the release dates for the gadgets also noted that the company was testing a display that, when folded, would be on the outside of the device. However, Apple encountered problems developing the custom hinge and cover.

Mark Gurman from Bloomberg is also confident that the IT giant will enter the folding device market no earlier than 2026. He believes that one of the first foldable gadgets will be a giant tablet with a display diagonal “close to 20 inches.” According to Gurman, the concept device looks like two iPad Pro tablets placed side by side. The gadget will appear in 2028.
