the Tour des Pays de la Loire disrupted by the social movement

Despite all their precautions, the organizers of the first edition of the Région Pays de la Loire Tour could not avoid seeing the race disrupted by the social movement against the pension reform. Monday evening, they had thus decided to modify the place of departure this Tuesday, this one passing from Saint-Nazaire to Saint-Père-en-Retz, because of a risk of blocking of the event on the bridge by protesters. Unnecessary precaution therefore since a little more than 5 kilometers after the start, about 200 demonstrators managed to block the race, letting the runners pass only one by one. A disruption that will have lasted about ten minutes, before the race can resume its normal rights.
