The Costa Brava Girona Tourism Board of the Province of Girona took place this Thursday in Dublinamong thirty travel agents and fifteen Irish journalists and content creators, an action to promote the tourist offer and the news of the destination for the 2023 season.
too eight representatives of companies and tourist organizations from Girona took part in the meeting, who used networking prior to the destination presentation to generate business opportunities with the travel agents in attendance. Following the presentation an energizing activity took place, a workshop to create cocktails from the territory, by Cocktail Time. The action ended with a gastronomic meal prepared by establishments affiliated to the Cuina de l’Empordanet collective (Ca la Taverna Restaurant, Aradi Restaurant, and Aquamare Restaurant).
This action is scheduled within the 2023 Action Plan of entity i aims to restore the influx of tourism from the British Isles to the Costa Brava after Brexit and the pandemic. The Board of Trustees notes that this season Girona Costa Brava Airport has five connections with the Irish cities of Dublin, Cork, Knoch, Shannon and Belfast, and that they will contribute to increasing the arrival of Irish people to Girona’s destinations, especially from month of June
The event was attended by Jordi Masquef, vice-president of the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board, and Aicard Guinovart, director of the Center for Tourist Promotion of Catalonia in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Irish attendees highlighted the presence of travel agencies such as Sunway, Oscar Travel, ClubTravel, Trailfinders, Platinumtravel and Intele Travel, as well as media outlets such as Irelands Travel News, Sunday World, Mirror and Travelbiz, among others .
