The incident in which a trader burnt the onions brought to the market in Andhra Pradesh due to the low price of onions caused a stir.

The farmer who brought the onion to the vegetable market in Kurnool was shocked to learn that it was being auctioned at a very low price of Rs 350 per quintal in an e-tender.

So he bought petrol thinking that it was better to destroy than to sell and came and poured the onion down and burned it. Shocked, pricing officials raised the price of onions to 700 rupees.
