The train overturned around 3:00 p.m. In the heart of downtown Glendale. A spokesman for the railroad company told the New York Post: “The train went into emergency mode in an attempt to avoid a collision with a truck and a trailer that got stuck at the crossing located on the railroad track.”

The sudden stop caused the train’s 21 cars to fly off the tracks and land within spitting distance of nearby houses and buildings. Although the train managed to avoid the truck, one of the derailed cars collided with a car that was next to the tracks. A woman who was driving the vehicle that was hit was slightly injured.
