Unexpected earthquake in TVE programming. The public channel announced this Wednesday the signing of the presenter Jaime Cantizano as a face for the mornings of La 1 starting in September. The public corporation is already preparing a new format that will start at 10:00 a.m. and will last throughout the morning slot, occupying the spaces currently held by ‘La hora de La 1’ and ‘Hablando claro’. The new program, revealed the chain, will include reports and live connections to tell current affairs, with a large team of reporters, collaborators and protagonists. In addition, it will offer “real-time information from the places where the news happens, with an agile, relaxed and close tone”, according to RTVE.

With this decision, Cantizano also returns to the small screen, where he developed his professional career on Antena 3 with shows like ‘¿Dónde estás corazón?’, and more recently on TVE, a channel in which he presented entertainment programs such as ‘Jugando con las stars’, ‘Eurovision Goal 2017’, ‘Happy 2015’, ‘Hit-The song’ or ‘Look who’s dancing’. Currently, the communicator was in charge of the radio format ‘Por fin no es lunes’, which is broadcast on Saturday mornings and Sundays on Onda Cero. Sources from Atresmedia Radio confirm to this newspaper that Cantizano will continue at the station hosting the weekend morning despite his signing by RTVE.

With this new proposal, public television once again enters the competition for morning leadership once Ana Rosa Quintana, until now the ‘queen of the mornings’, moves to Telecinco’s afternoons as a replacement for ‘Sálvame’. From TVE they want to boost their grid for the start of the season, the first without ‘AR’ in the competition for 18 years, and try to catch a viewer who was following the veteran Mediaset presenter.

Precisely, in the Fuencarral channel there will also be changes in its morning slot with the incorporation of the journalist Ana Terradillos (currently presenter of ‘Cuatro al día’), who returns to lead the political gathering of Telecinco in the early hours as she already did during the low of Ana Rosa Quintana. Likewise, Joaquín Prat will be in charge of a magazine that will begin around 11:00 am, where social issues and the world of the heart will be addressed. Both spaces will be produced by Unicorn Content. New faces are also expected on Antena 3, especially on ‘Espejo Público’, as the Atresmedia channel has signed long-time collaborators of the social Time.news of ‘El programa de Ana Rosa’, such as journalists Beatriz Cortázar or Paloma García-Pelayo, who could now share the set with Susanna Griso or with Sonsoles Ónega in the afternoons.

However, it would be the umpteenth change of RTVE in the morning slot, in which it has been premiering and canceling formats for years without giving stability on the grid. In September of last year, the public channel premiered ‘Hablando claro’, with Lourdes Maldonado and Marc Calderó, a format that did ‘tandem’ with ‘La hora de La 1’ with current events and direct broadcasts as hallmarks. Previously, the public channel tried an entertainment space with Ion Aramendi, entitled ‘Better with you’, which was withdrawn after six months due to low audience after taking over from the controversial ‘Las cosas claras’, hosted by Jesús Cintora in 2021.

Neither did the kitchen work with the Torres brothers, in an attempt to scratch some audience for veteran chef Karlos Arguiñano on Antena 3.

Jordi González, presenter of ‘Lazos de sangre’

However, the incorporation of Cantizano to TVE mornings was not the only novelty announced by the corporation. The Catalan Jordi Gónzalez will be the presenter of the new season of ‘Lazos de sangre’, where he will moderate the debate after the documentaries, a task that Boris Izaguirre has been carrying out in recent editions. He will be accompanied on set by journalists, experts and the protagonists themselves. Together they will analyze each week’s delivery and expand the content of the documentaries.

In this way, González returns to public television in which he debuted with the evening magazine ‘La Palmera’, in 1991′, or as a substitute presenter in the ‘3×4’ contest.

Subsequently, the communicator moved to Telecinco, where he developed his great professional career presenting formats such as ‘TNT’, ‘La Noria’, ‘Gran Hermano VIP’ or the ‘Survivientes’ debates. He ended his contractual relationship with the Fuencarral chain once the long-term contract that united him with Mediaset expired.
