Ukraine has not established contact with Russia regarding the situation at ⁢the Suja gas measuring station (GIS), through which Russian natural gas continues to‍ transit. Ukrainian Energy Minister ‌Herman Halushchenko⁤ confirmed this to‌ Reuters.

The ⁣statement ⁢comes amidst reports of “hostile actions” in the⁢ Suja area, including the gas measuring station itself. Earlier, Russian military bloggers claimed, without evidence, that Ukrainian forces had captured the facility.

Suja is⁢ the only station through which Russian natural gas is currently being transported to other European countries. Gazprom, the Russian state-owned gas‌ company, reported‍ transporting 37.3 million cubic meters of natural gas through the Suja GIS today, down from yesterday’s volume of 39.4 million cubic meters.

Russian forces have been engaged in clashes with Ukrainian military units in‍ the Kursk region for the past three days, according to Reuters.

Meanwhile, the⁤ price of natural gas in Europe surged to its ⁤highest level since December, fueled by fears of a potential‍ shutdown of Russian‌ gas supplies through Ukraine. The TTF price index reached over 41.8 euros per megawatt hour of natural gas for delivery in November.
