Alessandra Rojo de la Vegaelected mayor of Cuauhtémocwill have to wait longer to begin transition work in that demarcation; at the last minute, the person in charge, Raul Ortegacancelled the negotiating table.

Through his social networks, Rojo de la Vega reported that Ortega argued in a telephone message that for health reasons he could not attend the first transition table that was scheduled for this Monday, August 12.

After the mayor-elect announced last week that she would start official work on Monday to make the change of administration and assess the conditions under which she would receive that jurisdiction, everything was suspended at the last minute.

“We will be attentive to the mayor’s call to begin the transition work, which has a deadline of the day August 19“, Rojo de la Vega said on his X account.

A few days after the elected head of government, Clara Brugadamade a visit to the Cuauhtémoc mayor’s office to thank his supporters for their support in the last elections June 2ndwithout the presence of Alessandra Rojo de la Vega.

Brugada said on that occasion that one should wait until the electoral courts issued a final ruling to establish a position on who would be the winner; he also expressed his support for the Morena candidate, Catalina Monrealwho ran for mayor.

Later, Alessandra Rojo de la Vega issued a statement in which she announced that the transition table would be held on Monday, August 12.

On Sunday, Raúl Ortega cancelled the work and the mayor-elect said in a message: “I wish him a speedy recovery so that he can continue his spirit of transparency and political will and thus achieve an orderly transition.”
