In Washington DC, United States, the formal trial against Rubén Oseguera González “El Menchito”, son of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes alias “El Mencho”, leader of the well-known Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) began.

U.S. authorities say they will use various witnesses to support the accusations that Oseguera González faces in that country, including Oscar Nava Valencia “El Lobo,” former leader of the Milenio Cartel to which he once belonged in the CJNG under the nickname Los Mata Zetas.

Nava Valencia recognized Oseguera Gonzáles as the second in command in the leadership of the criminal organization led by his father and said he had known him since 2005 when Nava Valencia was the boss of the Milenio Cartel in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco.

According to Nava’s accounts, “El Mencho’s” son attended with his father some meetings in which topics such as the rivalry that existed with other criminal groups such as La Familia Michoacana or Los Zetas were discussed and that was how “El Menchito” began to become immersed in drug trafficking issues to later become one of his father’s operators.

“El Menchito” is under the scrutiny of the North American authorities for drug trafficking within the United States, for buying and selling drugs from South America to Mexico and for distributing drugs from Tijuana to US states such as California, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Georgia and Texas.

Rubén Oseguera González was arrested in Mexico in 2015 and imprisoned in the Federal Social Readaptation Center (CEFERESO) No. 13 to be extradited to the United States in February 2020.
