Barbara and Christophe*, in their fifties, recognize it bluntly: real estate has never “very passionate”. The link is therefore quickly made between this lack of interest and their misadventures, which placed them “on the side of real estate “losers”, smiled Barbara, full of self-deprecation. Talleyrand would have said “When I look at myself, I feel sorry; when I compare myself, I console myself”, but it is the opposite quote that would fit like a glove to the couple in their fifties, parents of three children. Because if they are not to be pitied financially, they cannot help but compare their trajectory to that of friends of their generation, who have “blithely riding the wave of soaring prices over the last 25 years” to build up a nice little real estate asset.
