The Civil and Criminal Chamber of the Superior Court of Justice of Extremadura has acquitted the policeman accused of shooting an escaped prisoner to death in Cáceres, considering that he committed a slight imprudence, which is not penalized. In this way, he revokes the sentence of the Provincial Court of Cáceres that found him guilty of less serious reckless homicide and that sentenced him to pay a six-month fine at a rate of 15 euros per day and to pay compensation to family members ( parents and a brother) of the deceased of 108.00 euros, declaring the State subsidiary civil liability.
