The story that comes from Mexico is unbelievable, but it’s true. A girl bathing in the Manialtepec lagoon was chosen as a meal by a big man crocodile, who aimed and bitten her by slamming her left and right. The tragic ending seemed almost obvious, but the courage of her twin sister changed the ending of the story, making it a happy ending. Melissa – we read in the Messenger – is miraculously alive following a fracture in her arm, several internal injuries, water in the lungs and four days of coma. Consequences that will forever be visible through a twenty centimeter scar on the abdomen of which, she says, “she is very proud” because it has given her “a new perspective on life”.
“I was sure I was going to die,” the girl told the Sun. And at this point Georgia comes into play, which is crucial to saving her life. The young woman – continues the Messenger – had just managed to get ashore but when she realized that her twin was not with her she feared the worst. Georgia entered the water and defended her sister with the only weapon she had: her hands. “I started hitting him with both fists. It was like hitting a wall. Fortunately, however, the crocodile had less tenacity than Georgia and, after biting her wrist, gave up.
