BarcelonaAt least eight families from the L’Olivera school in Vallirana (Baix Llobregat) have reported two canteen monitors for allegedly sexually assaulting their children, according to several sources consulted by the ARA. The first case, which came to light last Monday, marked the beginning of a trickle of allegations that, according to sources close to the families, has not yet ended. Last Friday, according to police sources, seven families had already reported and in the last few hours another has done so. The Mossos d’Esquadra have been investigating the alleged assaults since last week. Every day the number of complaints submitted has grown, but the police sources consulted maintain that, at the moment, there are not enough indications to prove the existence of these attacks and, for this reason, they have not yet considered arresting the monitors.

The Mossos are investigating one of the monitors as the alleged material author of the assaults and the other to cover her up. The story of the vast majority of the complaints is the same: at nap time, right after lunch, one of the workers practiced touching girls and boys with carnal access. At that time, according to sources from the families, there is a group of about 30 children from I3 taking a nap, and the current allegations would represent 25% of these students. The first mother to report explains in statements to the ARA that a week ago she detected that her daughter had “a kind of white paste in her private parts”. After asking her several times what it was, the girl, only three years old, replied that it was the monitor who put it on her and that when she did it “it hurts her a lot”. This, she added, happened when they played “doctors” with the teacher and another girl.

The second child is the daughter of the second family that reported. When the mother asked her about it, the girl described a similar situation. The two families went to Sant Joan de Déu hospital to have a medical examination, as most affected families have done. Police sources point out that in none of the medical reports at hand can it be concluded that there were assaults, although it must be taken into account that the examination was carried out days after the alleged events. In the complaint, most mothers have attached videos of their children explaining these situations. Many of them, after the first complaint, explain that they remembered that their son had arrived at home one day with irritated private parts.

two games

The complainants mainly focus on two games: that of the doctors (where, according to the account of the complaints, the touching took place under the pretext of a medical check-up) and that of the slide. A mother’s testimony describes it: “Three weeks ago my son got down on all fours on the couch and told me to tickle him. He said it was called the slide and they did it at school.” Another mother explains that at the beginning of the school year she took her son to the CAP because “he didn’t want to urinate or go to school” and she detected inflammation. Then, he thought it was the adaptation to a new school, but now he doubts whether it could be a consequence of these supposed practices.

The police work is now focused on collecting evidence that supports the story of the complainants. At the moment, after listening to the statements of several people from the school environment, it has not been possible to draw any relevant conclusions. Some objects from the school have also been taken to be analysed. At the same time, the monitors have not yet declared, although the police know that internally they deny the facts. Both, who were employed by Fundesplai, have been separated from the service and the school.
