The digital world is creating more problems day by day than being happy to see it growing rapidly. While on one hand fraudsters are stealing money by design under digital banking services, on the other hand, personal theft is happening more and more through digital service apps.

Information security is a big question mark in the digital world, especially when it comes to Chinese apps. In that way, countries such as Australia, France, England, Canada, New Zealand, and India have banned China-owned video streaming platform ‘TikTok’. Due to espionage and security concerns, the TikTok app was banned.

In this case, the information commissioner of England, John Edwards, announced that ‘TikTok does not comply with the information laws of England. The violations occurred from May 2018 to July 2020. TikTok has been fined $15.9 million (Rs 130 crore) based on complaints that the company misused the personal information of minors.

More than 10 lakh minors under the age of 13 had their data breached. The company does not impose restrictions on the age of viewers who should watch the TikTok app. This affects the safety of minors’, he said.
