“As a result of the impact, the submarine sank on the spot,” said the General Staff.

The Ukrainian army did not specify when exactly it happened, but according to reports from both sides, the last missile attack on Sevastopol was carried out on the night of August 2.

Then the Russian side reported only about downed missiles and their debris that fell in various places of Sevastopol.

The General Staff of Ukraine recalls that “Rostov na Donu” was damaged by a missile strike in September 2023, when it was under repair in dry dock at a ship repair plant, and since then it has been repaired and tested in the Sevastopol Bay.

“Rostov na Donu” is a new diesel submarine launched in 2014, which, among other things, can carry four “Kalibr” cruise missiles.

The Ukrainian General Staff also reports that Ukrainian missile forces have “substantially damaged” four launchers of the S-400 Triumf surface-to-air missile system stationed in Crimea. It happened on August 2.
