The Ukrainian Air Force celebrated its 20th anniversary on Sunday by releasing footage showcasing their capabilities.

The ⁤video captured Storm Shadow missiles being launched from a ⁤fighter jet‌ and soaring through the sky.

One missile sported the UK flag, while‌ another displayed French markings, utilizing the missile’s French name, SCALP.

Defense Express reported that this marks the first time Storm Shadows have been documented in combat.

Sources claim the missiles were fired from an Su-24 fighter jet.

Such footage of Storm Shadows in action is highly unusual.

Previous footage of Storm Shadows, ‌released by MBDA in 2015, depicted the missiles being launched, ‌but it remains unclear whether those instances involved ⁣actual military action or test scenarios.

The Ukrainian military ⁢proudly ⁤declared this video the first official documentation of a⁤ missile launch in ‍real combat.

The Storm Shadow is a⁤ long-range air-launched cruise missile ⁣developed⁤ collaboratively by the United Kingdom and France. It weighs 1,300 kg, measures 5.1 meters in length, ‍and is powered by a turbojet engine.

These missiles can‌ deliver a 450 kg⁤ conventional warhead up to 300 km ‍away, primarily targeting stationary, high-value‍ targets.

Sky News reported ‌that ⁣these missiles made their debut in Ukraine on May 8.
