‘Agassi Fortress’, owned by the ultra-Orthodox businessman Aharon Greenfeld of Elad, which provides hundreds of thousands of hot meals every month, has submitted a significantly higher bid than its competitors to buy the catering company Schultz, which has run into difficulties.
In 2015, the Apax Fund acquired Schultz at a value of NIS 200 million.
Schultz recently entered a process of freezing proceedings after accumulating debts of about NIS 100 million. The court appointed the company as a trustee, Adv. Avner Cohen, from the Cohen Wilczyk firm, who sought to approve its sale to Food House when it was the only bidder. However, after a few days a new improved financial offer was submitted on behalf of Gourmet Meals, and today – a third offer was submitted.
The offer of Agassi Fortress, represented by Adv. Noah Kaplin and Adv. Shaul Haim, stands at NIS 4.2 million.
As a result, Oren Schultz’s Food House company, which offered NIS 3.2 million, is currently competing for the acquisition of Schultz; Gourmet Meals, represented by Adv. Amir Bartov, who offered NIS 4 million; And Agassi Fortress with 4.2 million.
In the application, the new bidder claims that its offer should be approved, and notes in the application that it submitted to Judge Hagai Brenner that it provides hundreds of thousands of meals a month to government, local and experienced authorities. The request also states that the company provides meals as part of the Ministry of Education’s feeding program, and that it is an approved supplier on behalf of the Ministry of Defense. Production takes place at the company’s plant, which is located in the Atarot industrial zone in Jerusalem.
Agassi Fortress employs 70 workers with a huge fleet of vehicles approved for transporting food at controlled temperatures that transports meals daily, to Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Bnei Brak, Beit Shemesh and Modi’in Illit.
