The national under-18 volleyball team continues its excellent performance at the European Championship, which is being held in Romania and Greece (July 1-13).

After a day’s rest, Antonina Zetova’s selection faced Lithuania and did not encounter any problems, winning to nil – 3:0 (25:15, 25:21, 25:17) in 73 minutes. Thus, our young “lionesses” remain the only team from Group II in Heraklion (Crete island) without a loss. This gives us the convincing first place for now with 4 out of 4. According to the regulation for the final four of the 16 teams, the first two in both groups qualify.

The Bulgarian team continued to have a different top scorer in every match so far in Greece. Today it was Nicole Okoro, who played a strong game and scored 14 points. Denitsa Angelova was stable again and added 10 points. Zetova gave more girls the opportunity to perform today. Her players showed good save percentages and in attack, we recorded only 4 aces (9 errors) and 6 blocks.

Tomorrow, July 6, we take on Finland in our fifth match of the championship. The match is again at 14:30 our time.
