The United Arab Emirates has promised to receive and treat a thousand Palestinian children wounded in the war in the Gaza Strip.
The first group of 15 people, including children and their family members, crossed the Rafah border crossing in the Gaza Strip into Egypt on Friday, from where they flew to Abu Dhabi, the capital of the Emirates, today.
Some of the plane’s seats were removed to make room for the most seriously injured on stretchers.
According to the Guardian:
Some young people had their hands and feet tied. Others sat quietly next to their parents and relatives. Some traveled alone. The mood in the plane was somber and quiet. Many mothers said they were exhausted.
