MADRID, 17 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The British Ministry of Defense has verified this Saturday that more than twenty additional Russian combat helicopters have been deployed near the front in southern Ukraine to contain the counteroffensive of the Kiev forces.

According to its latest assessment published this Saturday, military intelligence indicates that the latest images in its possession show the helicopters at the Berdyansk airport, “approximately 100 km behind the front line.”

London attributes this new deployment to the air superiority that Russia currently enjoys in the area, and that it wants to see reinforced to contain the Ukrainian advance.

Given the constant competition between air measures and countermeasures, it is likely that Russia has gained a temporary advantage in southern Ukraine, especially with these attack helicopters that use longer-range missiles against ground targets.
