United Kingdom joined the sentences for breaking into the Mexico’s embassy in Ecuador.

It is April 7the British Embassy in our country issued a statement regarding the police raid that occurred in the city of Quito on the 5th of this month.

“The Government of the United Kingdom condemns the actions carried out by the Ecuadorian authorities at the Mexican Embassy in Quito,” reads the statement shared on its social networks.

It is worth mentioning that the United Kingdom’s condemnation is added to those of the nations of United States, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Brazilamong other countries.

“All governments must respect the inviolability of diplomatic missions, as established in the Vienna convention of 1961. “The security of diplomatic headquarters and their personnel is a fundamental principle that governs diplomatic relations,” he added in his message the United Kingdom.

After the events in Ecuador, Alicia Barcena -Mexican Foreign Minister- indicated that the Mexican Embassy in Ecuador will be closed indefinitely.

Barcena invited the more than 1,600 people who live in Ecuador to use the Registration System for Foreign Mexican Persons (SIRME) and the Embassies located in Colombia y Chile, given the measure taken to close the Embassy.

Likewise, the government of Mexico will make the General Directorate of Consular Protection and Strategic Planning available to those who require it.

Mention that this Sunday afternoon 18 Mexican diplomats returned to national territory, among them Raquel Serur -ambassador of Mexico in Ecuador- and Roberto Canseco -head of chancery-.
