A delegation from the United Nations visited the city of Kufra to discuss the humanitarian and health challenges facing the Sudanese displaced persons in the city.
The head of the emergency room at the Ministry of Health in the Libyan government assigned by parliament, Ismail Al-Aida, participated in the meeting with the UN delegation and the World Health Organization in Libya, in addition to representatives of other UN agencies, the Libyan Authority for Relief and Humanitarian Aid, and the United Nations Population Fund.
During the meeting, the efforts of the Libyan government assigned by Parliament and the Ministry of Health to help the city of Kufra face the humanitarian and health challenges resulting from the increasing numbers of displaced persons from Sudan were reviewed.
The UN delegation affirmed the United Nations’ commitment to supporting efforts aimed at meeting the basic needs of citizens, and providing the necessary support to the city to improve the humanitarian and health response in the face of this crisis.
