He Pentagon has documented 274 anomalous phenomena unidentified bodies, known by the acronym UAP or UFOs, in just eight months, says the Department of Defense in a report presented to the US Congress on Tuesday.
As the document indicates, there is no evidence that any of those reported between August 31, 2022 to April 30, 2023 come from “outer space” and although it has not been confirmed that they are of foreign origin, this possibility is being investigated.
According to the information published by the CBS network, the report warns that the unidentified objects “present potential security issues of flights.
“While the mere presence of UAPs in airspace represents a potential danger to flight safety, none of these reports suggest that UAPs maneuvered into unsafe proximity to civil or military aircraft, positioned themselves on flight paths, or represented otherwise a direct threat to the flight safety of observation aircraft,” the document explains.
In this sense, Pat Ryder, Pentagon press secretary, assured that “the safety of personnel, our bases and facilities, and the protection of the security of US operations on land, sky, sea and space are paramount. “We receive reports of incursions into our designated space, land, sea or air, seriously and examine each one of them.”
The All Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), which belongs to the Department of Defense, has been in charge of collecting the sightings, documenting and analyzing the reports. In fact, many of them come from the military themselves.
In addition to the 274 in eight months, the office has also investigated 17 sightings that occurred between 2019 and 2022 and that had not been included in previous reports. In total, until April 30 of this year, 801 UAP reports.
