This information was given in a notice given by the Facebook page of the US Embassy in Dhaka on Thursday (September 12).

The travel alert for US citizens to Bangladesh was at level four (level four), now downgraded to level three (level three), the notice said. This means that any US citizen who wants to travel to Bangladesh can do so now.

However, the notification asked US citizens to avoid traveling to Khagrachari, Rangamati and Bandarban districts of Chittagong Hill Tracts due to security risks. Besides, it is advised to avoid any kind of gatherings or public gatherings.

In a post on social media X on September 4, the US State Department said Bangladesh remains a risk for US citizens to travel and is still on the red list. After eight days, the name of Bangladesh was removed from the red list.
