The United States is giving 20 million 22 million 50 thousand dollars to Bangladesh in three sectors. This money will be used for good governance, social, human and economic opportunity and sustainable development. This information is known from the source of Economic Relations Department (ERD).

The United States is providing 2.2 million in aid to three sectors

The Sixth Amendment of ‘The Development Objective Grant Agreement (DOAG)’ was signed between the Government of Bangladesh and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) on Sunday (September 15) at Rashtriya Guest House Padma.

Additional Secretary of ERD. K. M. Shahabuddin and USAID Mission Reid J. Eshliman signed the contract.

According to sources, the United States has been a trusted development partner of Bangladesh since 1972. Under an umbrella agreement entitled ‘Economic Technical and Related Assistance’ signed in 1974, the United States has contributed over US$8 billion in various sectors such as democracy and governance. Among these are food security, health and education, global climate change.

The USA provided most of its development assistance through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), and some other government and non-government agencies.
