The University of El Salvador, the only state university in the country, with 183 years of history, offers 169 courses whose objective is the training of quality professionals who contribute from various areas to academic, scientific and professional development from their various professions.
In addition to the number of courses already mentioned, the UES offers study plans in 71 master’s degrees and 9 doctorates that aim to provide more specialized training to those professionals who opt for a postgraduate option.
In this regard, the Faculty of Economic Sciences offers 5 master’s programs and a doctorate that are managed by the Faculty’s Postgraduate School.
The master’s degrees offered are: Master’s in Business Consulting, Master’s in Financial Administration, Master’s in Economics for Development, Master’s in Integrated Quality Management Systems and the Master’s in Public Policies, the latter created in 2019, with the UES being the pioneer in having this study plan.
Likewise, a PhD in Economic Sciences is offered, which is in line with the previous study plans, that is, to train competitive professionals who contribute to the development of the national economy.
Nydia Grande, Academic Assistant for Masters, maintains that the importance of these study plans lies, among other things, in improving the skills of professionals in the labor market. “Nowadays, continuous training is essential to enrich knowledge and develop managerial skills that allow professionals to successfully face the challenges of the business environment. That is why, as the Faculty of Economic Sciences, we strive to maintain an academic offer of postgraduate courses that allows those who take on the challenge to meet this objective.”
This is confirmed by Heydi Beltrán, a graduate of the Master’s in Business Consulting. She entered the master’s program motivated, first of all, by an improvement in her job and even in her salary. However, she says that as she specialized through the different subjects she took, she understood the importance of improving her professional level and quality.
