State Highway Agency of Azerbaijan completed a major overhaul of the 217-243-kilometer section of the highway Alyat-Astara-State Border with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
As Day.Az was told in the structure, this 26-kilometer-long section was improved in accordance with the 3rd technical category. The width of the road has been increased to 12 meters.
Along the road, in accordance with the technological sequence, excavation, drilling, widening work to obtain the standard width of the road, construction of a foundation and laying of a new asphalt concrete pavement were carried out. The construction of drainage pipes and ditches has been completed.
The project carried out a major overhaul of existing bridges across the rivers Pensarchai, Archivanchai and Astarachai.
Construction work was carried out in accordance with the requirements of the “Building Codes and Regulations”, according to the planned schedule and with high quality.
At the last stage of the project, bus stops, road signs and horizontal marking lines were installed, after which the road, which meets modern requirements, was handed over to citizens for use.
The reconstruction carried out on this section of the Alat-Astara-Iran highway will ensure comfortable movement and facilitate the transportation of goods and passengers.
