The Erada and Mental Health Complex in Riyadh confirmed that “a person who has an urgent desire while driving a car to use a mobile phone confirms that he has addictive behavior on the phone, and thus the inability to control his use.”

For his part, the psychologist, Essam bin Hamad Al-Khudairi, explained that “the inability to leave the phone while driving is one of the criteria for addictive behavior.”

Al-Khudairi pointed out that “statistics revealed that the rate of traffic accidents as a result of using a mobile phone amounted to 78% of the total accidents that occurred in the Kingdom.”

He also stressed that “it is not possible to combine driving and using the phone,” stressing that “the best behavior is to stop on the side of the road in the designated places and answer the caller or sender, in order to ensure his safety and the safety of road users.”
