During a celebratory visit this week, the US Ambassador to Belgium, Michael Adler, an associate of US President Biden, visited Antwerp.
The Jewish ambassador came to visit and met with representatives of the various ultra-Orthodox communities in the city, and with the participation of the ultra-Orthodox Belgian MP Michael Freilich.
At the beginning of the visit, the ambassador came to dine with all the representatives of the Jewish communities, a special kosher meal held for him. During the meal, Belgian MP Freilich spoke.
The Jewish ambassador told the event that his Jewish name was Mordechai, and told about the bar mitzvah celebrations he celebrated for his children. In addition, he said that all his life he has been protecting the Jewish communities.
In addition, as part of his role as US Ambassador to Belgium, the Jewish Ambassador, among other issues on his agenda, is working on both anti-Semitism in the country and restrictions on slaughter.
He went on to say that his door is always open to anyone in the Jewish community who needs any assistance from him as the United States Ambassador to Belgium.
