The preliminary results of spacecraft launches in 2022 have been summed up. In total, since January 1, 125 space launches have been carried out in the world, four of which ended in failure. According to statistics, the US is the leader in space launches. In 2022, they carried out 53 launches or 44% of the total number of launches in the world. In second place is China. It completed 41 launches (34%). Russia with 13 space launches is in third place (11%). It is followed by New Zealand – 7 launches (6%); European Union – 3 launches (2.5%); India – 2 launches (1.6%). Iran and South Korea carried out one space launch each.

Thus, the US and China have strengthened their leadership in the number of satellites in orbit. The United States has more than 3,000 of them, China has about 400. Russia has about 150 civilian, military and dual-use satellites.
