Honorary President of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Richard Pound expressed the opinion that WADA will strip the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) of its compliance status, which will lead to a ban on holding major competitions in the country. Pound’s words are reported by Reuters, Day.Az reports with reference to Gazeta.ru.

The reason for this decision may be the “Rodchenkov Act” adopted in 2020. It is used to investigate positive doping tests that were found in 23 Chinese swimmers. The “Rodchenkov Act” provides for the possibility of prosecution by the United States of any athlete in the world if they are involved in a doping conspiracy at competitions involving the United States.

The 2028 Summer Olympics are scheduled to take place in Los Angeles, USA. The games will be held from July 14 to 28.

The host city of the 2034 Winter Olympics will be determined around July 20, 2024. Salt Lake City is bidding to host the competition.
