The Castro regime blamed the United States for supposedly “not providing information” about the Cuban doctors kidnapped in Kenya and who died last February.

The accusation was made by the communist dictatorship through a statement from the Foreign Ministry published in its propaganda media this Friday, April 12, five years after the kidnapping of doctors Assel Herrera Correa and Landy Rodríguez Hernández.

According to the Castro regime, the United States “has not responded with the seriousness or urgency required” to the requests of the communists.

Likewise, he pointed out that the data offered to date “is not enough” to clarify what happened to these Cuban doctors who were kidnapped in Kenya in 2019.

“Despite the multiple efforts made by the Government of Cuba, it has not been possible to obtain information or evidence that would allow us to reach definitive conclusions and clarify the situation of Assel and Landy, whether they remain alive or confirm the sad news disclosed on the 17th. of February”adds the regime’s statement.

However, the Castro regime assured that they were able to corroborate that on February 15, the United States African Command (Africom), which operates in Somalia, carried out an air attack in the area where the Cuban doctors were.

It is important to note that, on February 17, news circulated about the alleged death of the Cuban doctors held captive by Al Shabaab, the militant group reported according to a statement published on Telegram.

Al-Shabaab alleged that the two were killed in a drone strike in the Somali city of Jilib.

The doctors Cubans Landy Rodríguez Hernández and Assel Herrera Correa were kidnapped by Al-Shabaab militants in northeastern Kenya in April 2019.

However, the statement issued by the dictatorship this Friday is nothing more than another pot of smoke to wash its hands of the situation of these doctors who were kidnapped and that the regime did little or nothing to rescue them from the terrorist group.
