We support educational and economic programs in the field of STEM in Azerbaijan.

As reported on Friday by Day.Az with reference to Trend, this was stated by Acting Deputy Chief of Mission of the US Embassy in Azerbaijan Bill Murad at the graduation ceremony of the ThinkYoung Coding School, organized by the non-profit organization ThinkYoung in partnership with the aerospace company Boeing.

Bill Murad noted that one of the most striking examples of U.S. cooperation in Azerbaijan is the embassy-funded program called Technovation for Azerbaijan. It is designed for teenagers and students in the regions of Azerbaijan.

“I am very pleased to see Boeing, a major company, supporting STEM education for the young generation of Azerbaijan. Boeing is a strategic partner in Azerbaijan’s rapidly growing aviation sector and is contributing to route expansion, network expansion, and operational efficiency,” the US Embassy spokesman said.

According to him, the embassy highly appreciates the company’s additional commitment to social activity in Azerbaijan.

It is worth noting that from July 22 to 26, ThinkYoung and Boeing held their first coding school classes in the Caspian region and Central Asia.

As part of the program in Baku, Azerbaijani schoolchildren aged 10 to 17 took coding classes, including lessons on website and game development.

In addition to in-demand digital skills, students also learned English and acquired skills that will help them in future careers in technology, aviation and other STEM fields.
