Tragedy in Munich. A 7-year-old Italian girl was crushed to death by a 200-pound marble statue while playing in a Munich hotel yard last week. Lavinia trimetra, Manapoli, was on vacation with her parents when the accident happened last Friday evening. According to local reports, Trimatra was playing with an 8-year-old boy when the ball fell on her.

Passersby – including her father, Michele Trimetra – rushed to her aid and lifted the statue off her, according to Italian media. Paramedics arrived at the scene and tried to resuscitate her before taking her to the hospital where she died two hours later. “You are and will always be our angel. Rest in peace, the love of our lives,” wrote her mother, lawyer Valentina Pogi on social media, a few hours after her daughter’s death.
