The Vice-President of the Transitional Legislative Assembly of Burkina Faso reiterates his country’s support for the territorial integrity of Morocco

During his talks with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi El Alami, Mr. Diallo, currently on a working visit to Morocco at the head of a delegation from the Transitional Legislative Assembly of Burkina Faso, welcomed the content of the Royal speech delivered by His Majesty King Mohammed VI on the occasion of the 48th anniversary of the Green March, in which the Sovereign proposed “the launch of an initiative on an international scale to promote access for the Sahel States to the Atlantic Ocean”, and stressed that Morocco is ready to “make its road, port and railway infrastructure available to these brother countries”, indicates a press release from the House of Representatives.

Mr. Diallo also reiterated, on behalf of the Burkinabe parliamentary delegation, his country’s condolences and solidarity with the Moroccan people after the earthquake of September 8, welcoming, in this context, the wise management of this ordeal under the clear-sighted leadership of HM King Mohammed VI.

For his part, Mr. Talbi El Alami affirmed the constant readiness of the House of Representatives “to strengthen cooperation relations with the Transitional Legislative Assembly of Burkina Faso, to share its experience and to ensure permanent coordination at different levels.”

Furthermore, Mr. Talbi El Alami gave an overview of the constitutional powers of Parliament, in particular those related to the examination of the finance law, the control of the government and the evaluation of public policies, while presenting Morocco’s parliamentary experience which spans nearly 60 years.

The meeting was attended by the President of the Morocco-Burkina Faso Parliamentary Friendship Group in the House of Representatives, Ibrahim Bendidi, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Burkina Faso in Rabat, Mamadou Coulibaly.
